Luanch PS3 60gb, 25mb free, locks up EVERYTIME. So dissapointed with RockStar on this. Even exchanged the game and re-installed 3 more times with the same result. Should probably hold some kind of GTA IV burning at the stake demo for all those Rockstar testers that f*cked the dog instead of testing their product. Shame on you Rockstar for forgetting your Sony fathers. First a $40 million dollar payoff from M$, now crappy teasting on Sony's platform. Looks like they're getting ready to be owned by EA as this is their style as well. This industry is making me sick. (as if anyone cares)

60GB PS3. Installed and starts playing fine (though the initial load screen is a bit heavy for a HDD installed game)

Twice now it's frozen - once during car chase and another on the map, though the latter unfroze (thawed?) after a couple of minutes.

Im not conforming, take that society!! la la la la, ha hah ha hah, blah blah blah!!!

no seriously, i have had some minor 360 problems, with very small freezing (1-2secs) and also some really bad pop up and texture streaming problems lasting upto 10 secs, like the entire picture being textureless and bushses and trees not appearing unitl im stood in the middle of them for a few seconds, but these problems are happening when my 360 has been on for at least 5 hours

360 premium (20gig), not sure what processor i have but bought Dec 2006, Had RROD Oct 2007 replaced and new heatsink fitted.

Crikey charlie!

I've had probs with textures no loading quickly enough on PS3, say, rounding a corner at full pelt to find a brown textureless pavement that clips into the wheels so it looks like I'm driving through mud - but that was just a second or less - a full 10 seconds waiting for textures to pop. Yikes! I guess that might be put down to the DVD speed versus the PS3's installed HDD content.

How you finding it Config? I seam to remember your a big GTA fan

The only problems I've had with my 360 is some popup and a odd bug where I was taking Michelle out on a date after making a save and I needed some health so I was gonna take her to the 69th Dinner (is that what its called?).

We'd be driving there and get to a point on the drive south and we would randomly jump out of the car a Michelle would says something about the Cabaret... but we we where not even by the place and if we walked there nothing would happen... and I could never complete the date... without popping a cap in her ass, but that is obviously not the best way to end a date...

Even tried reloading the save and drove different routes but it would still keep happening until I went off and did a different mission.

But with a game this huge I'm not surprised there are a few bug hanging about

Yep, big fan of the former games. So far I'm enjoying IV, but to be honest I'm finding the cut-scenes a serious turn-off and way too long - mostly because the writers seem intent of parading their fruitless attempts at humour instead developing interesting characters and furthering the plot.

The initial intro scenes bored me rigid. Then, after the initial "wow" of the environment and fine details, the lack of engaging plot had me all "meh" about it. Then the plot picked up, finding more out about Niko (the children lined up by the church ... shiver) , but now that I'm past working with Dimitri, the foot seems to have come clearly off the "plot" pedal and we're back to lame attempts at humour and pointless errands for pointless, 2-dimensional characters.

I'm going to give a good thrashing tonight - the wife is out for the evening and the little 'un will be to bed early ;)

We'll see where we are after the weekend. I just hope the plot throttle opens up (not to mention the bridges)

Yeah some of the cut scenes are quite annoying but some are brilliant. Bruce and Manny are both complete dicks, but at least Bruce is occasionally amusing... if very really.

I'm about 20% (according to the stats) into the game and still stuck on the first two islands. Hopefully they will open up soon.

I liked the opening credits, thought they where very slick, but the first part of the game is a little boring. Its just a long tutorial.

Lucky you, I have my Dads birthday tonight, my nephews birthday tomorrow and have some freelancing work that needs doing over the weekend to. Going to grab a quick game now before going out and then hopefully get some game time in on Sunday/Monday hopefully.

The plot so far does have some potential and hopefully once the other Islands open up it will start getting deeper and more interesting.

Michelle - that dirty, two faced lil whore.

I'm currently vying for the McReary girl - she's a bit of a munter, but maybe she'll be more interested in activities that don't involve pumping my for information.

Oh, and the mission difficulty has gone through the roof. WTF?!

I was gonna post the same thing, the bitch! Some of the missions are really hard, other are still quite easy. Bank job was brilliant, but hard :) And having to start all over from the start is a pain, especially when you die after a 12min car chase!

The McReary girl is a minger and she doesn't put out! And constantly moans about what I'm wearing as if she has any f**king style! I'm thinking of giving up on her.

I did date some girl off the interweb and she liked going to the strip club, but she had an annoying voice and kept talking in the 3rd person which really pissed me off, she had to go

I've just sent my first request for a "real" date (i.e. not mission) and I'm waiting for a reply.

I'm currently stuck doing the strip joint job for Dwayne and the Mafia job for Packie - with the former I get slaughtered after taking out the first manager and then trying to leg it after the other two. The latter, I get cash but on of the other guys ends up getting themselves killed and cuts the mission short. I really fscking despise games where you have stop supposedly smart NPCs gettign whacked - it was my biggest gripe with Kane & Lynch

And yeah, having to "redo" a mission when you're on the other side of the city a pain - even if there is a cab nearby or I call car service.

Anyway, have you tried drunk driving yet? It's hilarious, not least the fact that the police will hunt you down like a dog, yet sober you can cause carnage right under their noses and they take no more action than a quick "whoop" of the siren.

Ah, I walked into the strip join and got to the back before pulling my gun out, in the area where you get the private dances and started from there. Rather than trying to get in guns blazing. There is a shotgun in the managers office too. The door on ya left as you enter the main room.

Don't know what mission that is, not ringing any bells.

Is Kane and Lynch any good? I was going to buy that but got put off by the poor reviews.

Still annoying! Even when the mission starts there is sometimes a drive to the actual location which is a pain.

Yeah, got drunk. Tried driving and got arrested and lost all my guns :( didn't do it again. Being drunk is annoying. But it was funny when i was showing my mate and tried to hail a cab and Niko shout out "yellow car" with his arms in the air.

My mate was then chasing taxis on saturday night shouting "Yellow Car" :)

meh, the driving around is the core of the gameplay...if it wasn't the horrible combat would be even more glaring as a flaw, so I don't mind the driving around so much...EXCEPT when I got a call to go on a mandate with someone 2 islands away...you'd think that the times would be adjusted for distance, but no, its a solid hour wether you're 3 blocks away or an entire map away...and the pool minigame kinda sucks...I can't get a decent break to save my life.

All in all, I have to say that this game is now my favorite for most overrated game of all time...I'm not saying its bad, its merely deeply flawed...too flawed to be the highest rated game of all time, which I understand it is.

I tried knocking the dude near the front of the strip club out with the bat, for a slightly more stealthy approach, didn't work though....
